Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Learning Disability Nurse to join healthcare teams across the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will support individuals with learning disabilities to live independent, healthy, and fulfilling lives. You will work closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the physical, emotional, and mental health needs of individuals with learning disabilities

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans

  • Provide ongoing nursing care and support

  • Administer medications and monitor treatment plans

  • Promote independence and community inclusion

  • Work collaboratively with doctors, therapists, social workers, and support staff

  • Safeguard vulnerable individuals and ensure compliance with UK healthcare standards

  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or equivalent

  • Registered Nurse qualification

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) UK (or eligibility to register)

  • Additional training or certification in Learning Disability Nursing is an advantage

  • Experience Required

  • Minimum of 1–2 years nursing experience (preferably in mental health, community care, or disability support)

  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is highly preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in care planning and patient assessment
